Signing Taylor Hall and trading for Marner - Super offensive team

Created by: Willian_Cardoso
Team: 2020-21 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 22, 2020
Published: Aug. 22, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What about 2 super offensive lines in an already stunning scoring team??? If you guys think about my scenario, you'll see that it's not an impossible one (improbable, but not impossible). I know someone will tell me that I should improve the D a bit, but how can any team stop an offensive team like that in a 7 games playoffs series!? I'm not a Colorado fan, but it'd be amazing to see this happening. Be my guest to criticize, if you can...Lol

I can't see Toronto taking that deal also how are you planning on paying Makar and Landeskog

Hall will get 2-3 more aav. You also then don’t have room to resign Mack/Landy/Makar in a year or two

Toronto MUST get some cap relief and they would add a very good winger and a solid top 4/ top6 D plus a 1st rd pick and a conditional 3rd. That's a very good price to Marner to me. As for Makar and Landeskog, I don't think Landeskog is a no-brainer at their roster. If Hall plays his better they could let Landeskog go and sign just Makar.

That's something arguable. I don't think my trade is a bad one. I've seen a lot of worse trades than mine, even made by your team. Lol

You probably be right about Hall, cause he had a not so good season. As for Landeskog, as I just said, if Hall plays really well for them, Colorado could let him go. Mack still has 3 years left in his contract. That's a lot.

What about add Timmins? As I just said, I won't be shocked seen my trade being accepted. Most GMs already did worse moves than this one. Lol

no the leafs need a current top pair RHD for Marner, not a potential one. Or at least a current top 4 with upside + mid to high first rounder + forward replacement.

Maybe for arguments sake, if Girard shot right, it'd be Girard + Burakovsky + 1st for Marner

he’s a 23 year old winger who can play out 90+ points, who can play the penalty kill, he had a tough year cuz of the coaching change and then something came out that happened in his rookie year then he got injured for 5 weeks. he’s a great young player and that package you made for him is horrible

But you guys would still adding a potential one PLUS a top 4/top6 one in Zadorov. I like Zadorov. He's pretty solid and physical. Besides, Burakovski is having a very good season showing he's capable to be a top 6 winger. And you guys would still getting a 1st AND a conditional 3rd. Thats's A LOT!

I think you're overreacting. If I added Timmins (a potential top 4 D), I think it'd be a fair offer, cause I offered a top 6 winger, plus a top4/top6 D, plus a 1st AND a conditional 3rd. That's a lot to me and there's not much better offers to Toronto gets to trade Marner.

Its a lot, sure, but not a lot for a 23 year old with a 94 point season (and scored at pretty much the same pace this year), plays on the PK, etc. There would be better offers if a player like Marner went on the market though. Not a slight on the players coming back, but I think TOR could do a lot better, and should probably hold onto him rather than accept this.

And which one do you expect to get for him? Ellis? Ekholm? Cause Josi is out of the table.

I'm not sure about better offers, cause there won't be a raise on the cap and most of the teams won't have much cap space to afford almost 11M/season contract. Those which have are rebuilders and teams like that are unlikely to pay that much to get a player. Even Marner.

if there aren't then you keep him until a better offer presents itself. Leafs don't NEED to trade Marner, I personally think they should hold onto the core for at least one more year unless an unresistable deal or free agent (pietrangelo) comes along

Tell me what exactly do you think it'd be a trade offer by Nashville, then. Ellis plus...?

I think you guys would be in trouble in D in this case. Almost no cap space to get solid d-men and Toronto needs RHS d-men badly.

That's it? No pick? Wow! I was expecting more...Lol

Ellis already has 29 and Watson is a solid bottom 6 winger. I'd add a 1st or at least a 2nd rd pick in your trade.
