Then wed just have to wait for Norlinder to arrive. Also hope that the NAS first turn out to be a top 10 pick so we can draft a guy like Edvinsson, Power, Lambos or Ceuleman.

Value seems pretty fair for Mantha but I personally would pass. I just think he's about to break out and become one of the best PF's in the league. Was on his way to doing that last year before breaking his hand in a fight and missing months of action

But do you really want to lose 3-4-5 of his best season because of your rebuild? Those firsts/prospects would be a better fit imo. But I see your point

I’ve already made this comment about a very similar trade proposal. Long-term, i think the Wild are giving up the two best assets in this trade.
However, this could definitely happen because the Wild’s idiot owner, Craig Leipold, has a loooong history of being extremely short-sighted and desperate. Heck, he’s so friggin dumb, he might even throw in an extra 1st...

I would like this Minnesota trade for MTL. Though, I would keep the 9th ovr pick and draft someone like Perfetti or Sanderson

The only prospect I'm interested in from MTL is Romanov.

Romanov and MIN 1st would be tough to say no to

Romanov is too important to our d core. I mean, Askarov, a guy like Perreault, Bourque or Guhle, Poehling, Harris and Mete are some great pieces to help your rebuild. If we trade Romanov, we just create a hole elsewhere...

With Price, Weber and Petry playing some of their best hockey, Id rather have an NHL ready player to help them win now.

Ya the value is definitely there but if we trade Mantha we also leave a hole. There is no guarantee any of those players become NHLers (nonetheless Mantha level) and Poehling isn't showing too much so far...

At least you have Zadina whos a solid goalscorer in the making. Adding that to the fact that youll have at least two other bad seasons resulting in top 5 picks that will easily allow you to replace Mantha

As much as I like mantha you have to do that. We come out of the draft with sanderson and Rossi, plus someone later with the st louis pick. With 3 first rounders it gives us the ability to move 2nds or 3rds to replace some of manthas offense now. Kerfoot or kapanen or virtanen could help right away.

"that will easily allow you to replace Mantha"

This doesn't exist. Nothing is a given in the NHL draft. Zadina hasn't even proven he will be half as good as Mantha yet. The only thing of real value in this trade are the firsts but the return for Mantha should young, NHL-ready talent because that's exactly what he is.
