If we do that trade with WPG, that first will not be retained.

Winnipeg wants a 2C. Unless you give up Cozens I don't think you guys have enough to trade for any of their wingers.

The Blues just shake their heads and walk away without even answering that one.

Winnipeg also needs defense cause helleybuck cant play like he did this season every year. Ristolainen isnt great but hes a big body and a right shot and helps solve 1 of their problems plus getting a 1st round pick which will be probably 15thOA

No. Why would we even do that?

It's high time we start labeling Tage as a 1st round bust. A bust plus a mediocre pick (assuming your 4th you discussed above becomes the pick) does not get a 3C/LWer who plays shut down defense and could likely score 15-20 goals with better line mates. I think this one is a non-starter, but Barby would be a good player for the Sabres to target.

In normal times I would agree but I think with the flat cap and the expansion draft coming PLUS what STL's plans are for Dunn and the captain all play into bargains being available and not just with STL.
Teams like Buffalo should be looking for those bargains and not paying face value. I know Barbashev's cap hit isn't earth shattering but every mill and a half counts if you want to keep your better players.
Highly doubt STL would want Thompson back.
The way I look at it Bozak would be the player STL would want to dump if the plans are to keep both D and it's going to cost STL for a team like the Sabres to take him. It would be Bozak plus for the 6th rd pick. STL doesn't want to take back any salary
