Description
Don't believe anything here is completely crazy. I personally don't think Piet is coming to Toronto but with all these "experts" saying its possible, I wanted to see if the numbers worked.

For all you CBJ fans, yes, Nylander is a centre, if he plays a full season and gets more used to it, he'll be as good as he is on the wing

I personally would not make that Nylander trade and also don't think Pietrangelo should come to Toronto.

If one of the big contracts should be moved, it is Marner

Doubtful get that much from Columbus. I could see a third rounder instead of a first being more realistic.

Josh Anderson is worth a 2nd, one year of Savard retained and a 3rd is worth Nylander? 4 more years on a good contract for a young 30 goal scorer is worth at least what I have Columbus is sending if not more

I’m really not sure about that one I have a tough time seeing the leafs get a middle six forward and top 4 d and a first for nylander seems far fetched.

Think about it the other way, would you give up a young, great forward for one year of a defenseman, a middle six forward and a mid-late 1st rounder?

Well you word it like it’s not a quality middle six forward and as if intentions isn’t to resign savard which wouldn’t be willing to part with nylander for a rental so it’s not just for one year. I’m not saying it’s out of this world crazy but it just feels like a bit much retaining on top of it that first just seems like a deal breaker for me. I’m not a Columbus fan tho so perhaps I’m way off here they might bite and if they do good on the leafs

Ofcourse the Leafs will try and re-sign him but CBJ could literally sign him as well. The value has to be seen as only the one year left of his contract since the Leafs could technically add him next season for free.

    Not if Columbus resigns him.

Anderson’s value would be around a late first round pick, early 2nd rounder maybe (26-34 range). Savard as well, but he’d be worth a lot more with more term on his deal. I can’t see CBJ trading savard, he brings too much value to the team. I can see a Korpisalo and Anderson for Nylander deal happening.

Jarmo already said our 2020 1st is off the table. Sorry but Jamro would decline that.

I don't think Anderson is wirth a 2nd at the moment. But yeah, I do think CLB would take that in a second, even if it doesn't really address their primary need.

    Awful trade for the Leafs.

    Savard's a UFA in a year

Fair enough, didnt see that, whole point was to get Savard half retained and a cheap option to play line 2 to even see if Pietrangelo could be signed which in this case he still barely can be

If you think the Leafs are trading Nylander and not acquiring a top 4 defenseman you're crazy

I don’t think that the leafs will trade nylander, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did. Yes I agree they HAVE to aquire At least a top 4 RHD if they want any success, but it probably isn’t savard.

I see Savard as a TDL acquisition personally if CBJ isn't in the playoff picture
