I like this.

Instead of Lijlegren, maybe try to get a TVR/Gudas for cheap.

Sens reject.

Andersen is worth a 2nd to a contending team that needs a goalie. Sens aren't a contending team so why would they pay big bucks for an aging goalie?

The most I'd give for Andersen as the Sens is Winnipeg's 3rd round pick so that they can trade him for more at the TDL.

It makes a lot of sense for Ottawa. Andersen is a great goaltender and he had a .937sv% during the playoffs after 4 months off. They have the money to resign him and it gives them solid goaltending through the flat cap era.

OTT decline.

Its an overpayment to rush the rebuild.

Talbot would work, but hes hoping for a raise.
Maybe the leaves can convince him though.

Because their coach is familiar with him and the sens aren't particularly far from making a playoff push again.

I don't know. There are a few goalies available this offseason that are bigger names than he is and with flat cap, salaries likely don't go up like they have.

It's not particularly rushed tbh. They probably start pushing for a playoff spot two years from now max. Maybe even next season if the chips fall right.

I'm not arguing Andersen is a great goaltender but Ottawa can just sign a goalie for free in free agency.

The Leafs traded a similar package to what you're asking for when Andersen was 5 years younger, an RFA and had better numbers...

Trading a 1st as a rebuilder for a rental goalie is a terrible idea,
