Holy, what the heck, ANTHONY CIRELLI, 7 MILLION DOLLARS, PER YEAR. He should get 3.5 Million for 2 years, still 7 Million

Gaudreau is worth multiple first rounders plus prospect(s). Kylington is worth a late 2nd. Phillips worth a late 3rd.

So the deal value is:

#9
+ 1st (2020 mid round)
+ 1st (2021 mid round)
+ 2nd
+ 3rd
+ prospects

...to move back 8 spots and still have a look at a Top 10 player in a really strong draft.

That's pretty good value, especially since there's a great chance Gaudreau extends in NYR.

He played a bit of forward a few years back. No space for him at LD on CGY's blue line. CGY could use a "defensive" forward on the 4th line. Could also stash him in the AHL, but figured I'd keep him on the main roster to show the full cap hit. If CGY has an injury at LD during the year, can always move him back to the 3LD spot.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a team come in above the $6.34M level to force TB to choose between Cirelli and Sergachev. I can't see TB letting Sergachev walk.

Sure, I'd love to see him sign for less (in CGY, assuming these deals occurred), and I think Treliving could get him down from that number based on his comparables. Again, part of the exercise here is to show that CGY could afford a higher ticket amount. And at $7M, I think Cirelli would sign it.

Lottery protect the 2021 1st rounder and that is a very good deal for MIN to land a young proven 1C that can score.

Gaudreau might be worth 2 firsts at peak value but the trade doesn't make sense for the Rangers whatsoever. Why give up Lafreniere making under 1 million for 3 years for worse prospects and Gaudreau who is several years older, due for a raise soon, plays a style of hockey that likely won't age well and gets paid much more the Lafreniere during a time when there might be a flat cap for the next several years? The Rangers won't want to trade the 1OA for anything other than a massive overpay which would include draft picks, young players and players that fit the Rangers current needs. This offer just simply is not that and without any guarantee that Gaudreau resigns in NY, the deal is a high risk low reward deal that the Rangers don't want to entertain right now.
I hope I don't sound too harsh and honestly it might be fair in a vacuum, but it just doesn't fit the current situation or the Rangers' timeframe

This take is ludicrous and not close value wise in a cap league. I’m not sure 3 & 5 for 1OA and Smith gets it done from Ottawa let alone this poo poo platter approach.
