New day new Matthews deal

Created by: TheOtherAuston
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 1, 2020
Published: Sep. 1, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'm tired of looking at all these AGMs and seeing nothing but the same deals, johnsson liljegren 1st for parakyo. Andersen to Calgary so for the foreseeable future I will do a daily Matthews deal to every team and the impact of spreading the cap out and asset replenishment. Yesterday was Arizona today Anaheim.
Anaheim makes for a terrible partner for a Matthews deal because they already have lots of centers but I will try my best to improve not just the leafs but both teams.

There is a difference between being cheap and spending money wisely. As a Leafs fan you should be well aware of that.

It's weird that he hasn't responded...

Before I answer, I'm curious as to why you think that he's cheap?

It’s an easy no. Not trading a decent RD signed long term at reasonable cost for a mediocre starting goalie that is a rental and barely an upgrade over what they have already. C’mon. 🙄. If the can’t re-up Hamilton they are Jets 2.0. Went from so loaded at RD they could not give Trouba top 6 minutes to barren. Canes would be in same boat. It’s bad business. Especially in a goalie rich market.

If he is such an average goalie why are the canes reportedly looking at acquiring him? I'll tell you why, because his actual salary is 1 mill and he's better than both of your current goaltending

So if they are looking to get Andersen in a "goalie rich market" and he's much worse than what's available there's one logical answer HES CHEAP

Like I said in the description, Anaheim is a terrible trade partner for Matthews but I'm still doing a team a day regardless of fit.

What's the end game here?

Hahaha, I mean, it’s the Toronto media that’s pushing it...so there’s that...Sort of like every time they seem a decently known RD, they’re like “the leafs have interest in (insert name here)

It's not just Toronto media dude it's been leaked a few times that many teams have taken an interest and Carolina is the most interested so far.

Just something different, I'm just tired of seeing the exact same trades by 50 different members.

So trolling with Matthews trades is your answer? Seems rather combative.

I mean, it was Friedman who was the first to report it, and he said "The Carolina Hurricanes have interest in Frederik Andersen, but Toronto’s made it clear it has no desire to make a move just for the sake of change. If it happens, it’s for an upgrade, which means the Maple Leafs could wait to see how a loaded group of goaltending free agents shakes out."

Not sure how Pesce has suddenly become involved, other than the whole "The Leafs are in on every single household name RD in the league!"

The only "household name" I've heard them be in on in recent memory is pesce Petro and larrson but what friedman said wasn't false other insiders have corroborated it aswell.
