Description

Allen gets traded for a 3rd, since the 7ths basically cancel out.
Allen had great numbers this season compared to the past few, because he was actually playing in a limited role and was treated like a backup. He is now 30 years old and has one year left at a hefty $4.35M.
If Allen is getting a 3rd, what does that make Murray worth?
Murray is 26, which is 4 years younger. He will ask for a slightly higher AAV, say $5-5.5M. Had a down year but performed in the playoffs (play-in round). Team trading for him will acquire him as a starter, and not a backup..

If he gets offer sheeted at $5-$5.5 that would cost a team their 1st and 3rd. Sooo, move him for that and get your picks back!

Most insiders are saying a second and a mid-level prospect. He's an arbitration rights RFA so that really hurts his value. If Pittsburgh is able to sign him to a 5.5mil contract or less before trading him his value might increase to a low end first+ some lower picks.

His value is a late 1st or mid 2nd plus. More likely he gets moved for a 3C or 3RD
