how does this make sense for Vancouver? Alzner and Eriksson basically cancel each other out and then Van gives up a pick and Boeser just... because?

dude, look at how much cap the Nucks get rid of here. Alzner is not “cancelling out” Eriksson.

The Nucks aren't going to give up BROCK BOESER just to give up the loui contract only to get alzner and harris, not even close to worth it.

Eriksson for Alzner saves VAN $1.37M in cap savings annually. Giving up Boeser is not even close to being worth that.
