Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

If Dallas finds a way to re-sign players like Gurianov, Hintz and Faksa, they might be in a good shape for the next season. Re-signing veteran players like Sekera and Perry for 1 year with cheap cap hit won't hurt them. Also, re-signing Khudobin should be helpful to keep their crease tight with 1A, 1B situation in net.

If that's all it takes to acquire him then we'll just trade Kykov and a 5th for him

May look like it fits within the cap, but Dallas could have anywhere between $3-5M in overage penalties from this season that will take a massive toll on their cap situation. Gurianov & Hintz will likely take bridge deals & Khudobin is likely gone after the season.

They will have 14.4 million in cap space next summer, they will re-sign Heiskanen easily

That's probably true, but If Dallas is desperate I might see them shopping Oleksiak very cheap. In a better case for Dallas they will recieve a higher pick from LA

I think just about every Stars fan wants to see Khudobin stay, but the reality is that we just may not be able to afford him. And I’m sorry, but signing my young 20’s forwards take precedent over signing a 35-year old backup goalie.
