I was just going of the rumours that EDM is interested in picking up Sutter. I forgot I could do cap retention, but maybe VAN holds salary? They could bring him down to $2,187,500 (pretty much the same Chiasson is making right now)

I think that is a fair trade for DET. I like Hicketts but just don't see him earning a spot on our roster because we have so many young D but could be a really good cheap 6th d-man for a competitor.

Unless DET is willing to eat one of the bigger cap contracts on the Canucks, I don't think that trade would go through. Demko showed a lot in the three games he played and the Canucks SHOULD use that leverage to dump a contract. But they could also run with him next year so idk.

Like if you would do Demko + Eriksson for some roster forward or one a prospect D (maybe Hicketts or Lindstrom or Cholowski?)
