What happens next season though? Need to sign 11 players and only have about $23m to do so -- those players include Pettersson, Hughes, and Demko.

Hoglander, joelvi Podkolzin all make team next year that's 3 players on ELC's. Louie Contract traded next year. that's well over 30 million to sign 8 players. they will be fine.

thats banking on a lot of unproven players to fill major roles but sure. Just move loui and be done with it, why make it so hard

Sure they're unproven but it's not like you need them to play in your top 6 or be a top pairing dman and aside from Juolevi they are all playing with men in the KHL and SHL so it's not like they're coming straight from juniors or college
