To be honest this is one of the better Johnny trade's I've seen.

Korpisalo is a beast at an extremely fair AAV. Would love to get that guy.

A 1st rounder has to be in there, no doubt about that. Only thing I would say is consider adding a younger high ceiling guy over Anderson, someone like Texier.

Even without switching in Texier for Anderson, I would seriously consider this as Brad Treliving.

I could F with this. Still think instead of Anderson we should get one of Texier or Bemstrom. As well as Foudy.

Foudy is loved by management and Torts and is our most untouchable prospect. Marchenko's name has been in the news recently as teams seem to be interested. He's much more expendable than Foudy, especially with Voronkov starting the season off hot.

Leaning to agreeing with. I don't think our defence will look much more different next year, but we will need to re-sign Jones and Werenski in a couple years. I don't see why we'd trade Savard unless we get good value in return. Murray is not returning unless he takes half his salary. Changed up the Wennberg/Nutivaara trade for Ehlers. WPG needs help at C and on D. Could through in a bit more as well in terms of assets as well if needed. Ehlers would be cheaper and is signed somewhat long-term.

Nuutivara is alright but LD and the Jets don't need a 3/4C, so they would say no.

Marchenko is great and all, but he's signed in Russia for another 2 years and hasn't indicated a desire to come over to North America afaik. Calgary also isn't generally regarded as a destination for Russians (we have Yelesin in the pipeline as like, our 9th D, and Zavgorodny in the Q but that's about it). Calgary would need a top prospect in exchange for Johnny, I don't see how you get away with not including at least one of Texier/Foudy, and we'd prefer a centre. If we got Foudy we'd be fine with taking a risk on Anderson as the secondary forward piece instead of another decent prospect/young player.

Nutivaara has been playing RD for as long as he's been paired with Murray.

Marchenko is a top prospect and was drafted in the 2nd round and would not have been drafted there had there been indication he'd stay there for an extended period of time. You won't be getting an already established NHL prospect for a guy who is a UFA in 2 years and just had the season he did. You're already getting Korpisalo (a good starter for less than 3mil), Anderson (a potential 20 goal scorer looking for a new situation), Bemstrom (top SHL goal scorer as a rookie 2 years ago with high scoring potential), a 1st and Marchenko (top 3 KHL prospect, could even be higher)

Just had the season he did? You mean outscore your best player by 9 points? That season? How about the 1 year removed from 99 points season, notably 12 points higher than literally the best season in Columbus franchise history? Gaudreau is a star, he won't be traded for just a goalie and a couble of maybes (Marchenko may never play on this continent, and there's no proof Anderson can retain his 20 goal form, he only had ONE in the 26 games he did play this year and he won't have played hockey for a calendar year by the time the season starts). Also you've changed the trade--the deal I was suggesting was Korpisalo+Foudy+Anderson+2020 1st, I would accept the Anderson risk in this case, you can keep Bemstrom and Marchenko.

Columbus has not want for Gaudreau.... we don’t need a small wing.... we’d rather go for Monahan and we aren’t going up that much for 2 years of a player.... this is awful for Columbus.

Winnipeg isn’t making that trade either.
