I doubt the Jets consider 2 years of Domi with his new agent pushing to be overpaid or force his way to UFA in 2 years as the main piece for 5 years of Ehlers on a bargain contract.

The Jets add? Yikes.

Frankly, I don't think the Jets are interested in a 1 for 4 deal... If it's going to be anything, It's going to include a 1st round pick, and Nick Suzuki... I doubt the Habs would be interested in that, so I don't realistically see a deal happening. Further, with the supposed high asking price for Laine and Ehlers, I don't realistically see a deal with anyone. The Jets are going to want an under 25 year old top 6 forward, or an under 25 top 4 RD, and a 1st round pick.

I guess technically Domi fits the bill, as he can roll in as a 2C or play the wing in a top-6 role.

But yeah, I tend to agree that the Jets aren't moving anyone

What the actual hell is this trade....take away the 1st and the 2nd and it’s still too much....Domi and Fleury for Ehlers that’s fair, add in a 4th if you feel like the Jets need to win the trade.

Sure, let's get McDavid for Kulak and Tatar while we're at it.

If you think a 60 point winger is worth a 60-75 point Center, a solid young 3rd pairing D, a young prospect with top 6 potential, two second rounders and the 16th overall pick in a deep draft you need to give your head a shake and lay off the drugs. If you put Domi with Laine he’s going to put up points like he did his first year with us. Centres have more value than wingers, there’s many reasons why this trade is brutal.

I don't understand what you're saying. you defend this trade and end it with "there's many reasons why this trade is brutal"

is it bad or good to you.

Definitely bad to anyone with common sense seeing it from Winnipegs stand point.

This is terrible for the Habs and if you think it’s bad for the Jets I’d love to hear why you think that.

Ehlers is cap controlled, and still developing, he should settle in around the 30 goal 40 assist mark.

Domi is a 50 point center/winger who is going to want $7M a season, but likely will settle in around $5.5M on a bridge until he's a UFA
Fleury had 1 point in 41 games, and won't be more than a #6-7 defenseman on most teams.
Ylonen is a toss up, kid went from 27p and +10 to 22p and -20 on a team where he played a bigger role, I don't like +/-, but that's a pretty glaring drop.
the first is a toss up, deep draft, but no real stars available there, 2nd as well.

So, Winnipeg gives up a salary controlled player (which they need, as they are in a cap crunch, and will be upon signing Laine) for a 2C who will likely want to leave or get paid more than Ehlers, a subpar D-man, and a bunch of "maybes".

btw, I'm a habs fan, and I think both sides get screwed in this deal.
