Danault trade with extension

Created by: TMLBRIAN
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 13, 2020
Published: Sep. 13, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I like it for all parties. To Montreal fans, remember Mittelstadt was 8th overall pick in 2017. He has dropped off in terms of value since then but is still only 21. Could be a nice piece moving forward. And if not they get a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks, which they can draft with or use as trading currency.

The rationale for the Pits trade is that they seem weak on right d and have an excess of quality goalies. So they downgrade their goalie scenario and trade a bottom 6 forward for a RHD, Backup goalie and the 38th overall in 2020 draft.

Toronto trade can be done with many teams. Pilut for another unhappy prospect.

If he was that valuable why would Montreal trade him just bc he wants more TOI, Suzuki moves to number 1 but Kotkaniemi has proved nothing yet...they had a good playoff but so did Ville Leino. He didn't score much for having Gallagher and Tatar as his wingers...as I've said elsewhere on here late first early second is as high a pick I would include but not 8OA. Mitts, 38 and include Pilut's rights JMO
If I include 8OA I'm getting more than Danault

You never know why he got less time, Skinner also played for us last season for 11-14 minutes, this does not mean that he is a bad player. He a good defensive center, and what we really need behind Eichel's back. As I understand it, Montreal has Suzuki, Domi, Kotkaniemi and Danault and none of them wants to play 3C - 4C, they will probably have to trade 1-2 centers.

I'm not saying that we should trade #8 for Danault, but I would consider the trade if #16 from Montreal participated in the deal and Rossi was no longer on the table when we had to choose at #8.

Ya and this AGM doesn't involve the 8th overall. Keep that in mind. Mittelstadt, 2021 1st, 2022 2nd, 2023 3rd. So Buffalo gets an extended Danault and keep 8th overall pick from this draft.

No, I know that, we were just speculating.

That is one bad trade for the Sabres. Denault isn't going to move the needle for them. Sign someone, but Sabres can't be giving up lottery picks for Denault. If nothing else wait a year
