You know the 2.5m retain on OEL is for every year remaining on his contract right? That's 17.5m total over 7 years. That's bonkers. No way Arizona does this.

The Leafs gladly accept and disconnect every single possible way of contacting them.

In general with the leafs, Canadians, and rangers having solid financial stability we could see some insane deals coming there way. That said this won't happen

Man though are the coyotes as a franchise ****ed. No money to pay bonuses and with the current situation no free agents will want to come so dark times for them

Yup...got any ideas of one? any team, player doesn't have to involve Leafs

I think all bonuses have been paid now but i guess this would also speak to deals that pay bonuses next offseason as well.

QQ if a bonus hadn't been paid yet could a team trade for that player with the stipulation that they pay the bonus.

IE, leafs trade for OEL who hasn't been paid his bonus yet and say we will pick that up but you have to retain $1M for the next 7 years?

I think they’ve all been paid but OEL is still owed a lot so I’m sure they’d retain some to get outta most of it
