Description
I’m a Bruins fan. Not Lightning. BUT I am a hockey fan thru n thru.
1. Killorn is a great trade. Avs get an experienced player to increase their scoring depth. TB gets a late first round pick. Avs will be aggressive in the offseason because they are likely quite bitter about losing that way to Dallas.
2. Johnson deal gives Detroit an experienced player that Yzerman knows. And they get more draft capital. TJ can be a veteran presence to mentor all of the younger players that will be coming in.
3. Thornton deal gives TB a cheaper experienced option on 3rd line. JT is motivated to win now.
4. Schultz deal I did at the end. It’s obviously a prove it deal for him. Same way for Shattenkirk last year. JS won 2 Cups with Pittsburgh so there’s potential there for him to regain his previous form.
5. Sekera is a solid bottom pair player. Distributes the puck well. Controlled puck transition up ice.
6. Cobourn deal is simple cap space. They can almost get 2 guys for that price.

Killorn and Johnson are similar players, and yet one is a cap dump and one is worth a first

They are not the same type... Killorn show is valuable in playoff while Johnson is more in the dark... but I do see Johnson fitting somewhere else for a 2C spot like Winnipeg, Colorado, Calgary, Florida...
So because if their needs they mught pay more: A-Prospect + 3rd
But Killorn would get a Decent NHLplayer + 2nd

Sergachev and Cirelli might sniff 5mil if it's a bridge deal Cernak is worth a lot more than 1.5.

Sucks to be an RFA in 2020 if any of those guys accept a deal like that.

Killorn is a helluva better player. Gritty tenacious and puts up points. Johnson has regressed. I think the Svs would pay that price especially IF he plays really well in the SCF. That’s important.

Cernak has not been in the league that long. 2 years is ok for him. Sergachev deal maybe should be 3 years instead of 5.

Keep in mind there’s ZERO state tax so players sometimes take a bit less.

I picked Detroit because Tyler Johnson does have a full NMC so he will have veto power. That’s why I don’t have him going to places like Winnipeg etc. I don’t think TB will trade him to Florida. Way too close to home.

Unless Tampa wins this year i wouldn't expect johnson to waive his NTC to head to the worst team in the league

I don't see Detroit taking on an extra $20M in cap for a 2nd and a 3rd, but it really doesn't matter because he isn't waiving for Detroit like ArakinSkywalker said above.

Might have to include that Avs first round pick.
