If you can snag Laine instead I'd go for him. Isles need a sniper.

The Islanders couldnt fit Laine into the salary structure

Take out Pionk and Eberle and it's closer. Jets may ask for more due to contract situations.

Niether Mayfield or Dobson could hold down the top spot next season. The Isles would need Pionk. Though about Bailey instead of Eberle. It just doesnt work for the Islanders straight up.

The Jets need to add to their defense though. They can't afford to move one to get one. Bailey is too old to be of interest.

Dobson could play on the top pairing and excel in that role with pelech, but trotz wouldn’t do that. The isles could have drafted Quinn hughes and he still wouldn’t be a regular on the isles.

I wouldn’t trade eberle for pionk straight up - eberle>pionk and it’s not close

Man, it's so interesting how the Islanders and Jets are perfect trade partners, but only if it's a major blockbuster. I wish we can do a smaller deal that would make everyone happy but your wingers are too good and our defensemen are too good.
