Description

Didn't really think this was a possibility given the recency (and severity) of his extension, but Craig Custance in the Athletic has Faulk on his trade board as a possible cap solution. I doubt any team would be interested tbh, especially before the FA period opens. Maybe after the UFAs are signed up, but at that point the Blues would've likely already missed on Pietrangelo. Thoughts?

I think that's right, but in this dream scenario let's say he had a change of heart after a rough first season in STL

No team is going to give up anything of value for Justin Faulk, St Louis might need to add a sweetener to move his contract. Outside of teams like Detroit and Ottawa how many teams can afford to take on a caphit of $6.5 million for 7 years.

Fellas, I'm not gonna try to justify the move lol I just thought it was interesting that Custance put Faulk's name on the trade list. I didn't like the extension the Blues gave him on day one - nobody did - and he's done nothing to change anyone's mind. It's just wild to see how easy the offseason would be if he never got inked to that deal.

If a team wants to swap a shorter contract that is somewhat moveable, the Blues should jump on it IMO.
