I dont think you understand that teams rebuilding are not going to give away their first round picks PERIOD

Let me count the ways you're wrong on the Columbus deal:

1) Columbus is looking for top-6 forward talent this offseason; Jarmo has stated as much.
2) Anderson's QO is for $2.1M, so that's the bare minimum you're paying him.
3) The Blue Jackets don't have the best prospect pipeline, it's true, but the deepest skating position in the org. is RD.

Columbus declines.

Seeing as this is one of your first efforts, here are some points to keep in mind: Not only are we not interested in trading away either of our first-round picks (unless Nylander is involved somehow), we also have absolutely no use for Johnsson, Kerfoot, Dermott or Bracco unless they're effectively free. The fair value for Kerfoot may be a mid-second, for Johnsson or Dermott a third, but we're not paying that. Anaheim's primary need is at RD and our secondary need is at RW.
