Description

Value of the Manson trade is not really important to this roster idea. The concept is to make room for Pietrangelo. Its worth noting that the Ducks actually Salary this year is very low so the Ducks could actually make a front loaded deal of over 10 mill in actual dollars if they wanted to and still only be around 71 mill in actual salary on the year.

I'd have no problem giving Pietro that deal, think he's 100 percent worth it. The problem is we desperately need a legit goal scorer(s). I think even with Pietro I'm not sure this team is better than a wildcard for the first few years. We'd need to either 1) hope Zegras and 6 OA come along very quickly or 2) put a package together for Laine or someone to make a real run at contention. Even then, I'm not sure if that's the responsible way to build this thing up. I'd respect the hell out of taking big swings like that though, its what Burke did and it broke right and won us a cup. Bob did/does things more conservatively which gave us 6 years of legit contention but ultimately nothing but division banners to show for it.
