Trades are good. Gotta get at least a 2nd-5th for Miller.

2nd round pick is fair value for Anderson but I don't think we'd move him for that price. It seems he's more valuable to us than to any other team so most likely they'll re-sign him.

He's got less term now and there's tons of rhd that are UFA's, doubt they'd get the same as what they gave up to get him if they did trade Miller.

Then we'd keep him. No point to do that. Bad look.

Is it though? A 3rd round pick isn't bad and is only a round later then the 2nd they gave up for him and who cares about the 5th at this point and really the odds of a 5th round pick amounting to much of anything aren't very good, if you need the cap space to improve somewhere else in the lineup thats a bigger concern and there's no other options or better offers then you make the trade.

He's still worth at least a 2nd.

Nah don't think that's fair tho. 3rd's a complete throw-away.

K then hold on to him, idk maybe I'll be wrong but I think there's gonna be plenty of UFA dmen that are gonna get squeezed by the flat/internal cap and with so few teams having cap space they're gonna have to take cheaper deals which will lower some trade values.
I like Miller but I just don't see any GM's giving the Sabres what they gave Vegas to get him.

Is a 2nd for Miller that much of a reach.

Several reasons not to trade Miller for a 3rd.
Miller is worth more than a third to Buffalo.
For a mere $1,875,000 of cap hit you are replacing him with Benn.
The entire hockey world thought Botterill made a great deal to get him for only STB 2021 2nd round pick.
At 33 Benn has a ceiling of 5 goals and 17 pts, at 27 Miller has a ceiling of 10 goals and 41 pts.
Miller's value was greatly reduced playing for Krueger (along with Rodrigues, Sheary, Okposo, Vesey, Montour, Hutton and of course Skinner. All had historic worse seasons under Krueger).
Finally, and most importantly, Dahlin seemed to play better when paired with Miller.
