They are supposed to be "ceilings"...so the best possible outcomes, not the most likely outcomes.

Are there any that specifically stand out as a ceiling too high?

Just about all of them are a stretch, but Hughes to Kane stands out. I'm not calling hughes a bust like some ppl are, I really like him, but to compare him to the best American of all time is crazy. Blackwood to Vasy stands out too. Vasy being no doubt the best goalie in the league

Boqvist to Connor is another. No chance. IMO I don’t think Boqvist ends up more than a third liner.

Hughes to Kane is a common comparison...its not like that originated with me. And no one is calling Hughes a bust.

I stumped on goalies, so just came up with a comparison based on size and personality. More of placeholder than anything.

I agree with that - Boqvist likely to be middle-six guy - but has a lot of tools to be better. One of the fastest skaters in NJD system. Freakishly strong for his size. A lot of skill (watch Byrnas highlights). And still only 21-years old.

Hughes is a poor mans kane.Just because he's a small american with skill doesn't mean he's comparibile to the best American of all time. He could end up being very good but he's never going to be on that level. Just going off rookie years alone Kane had 72 pts in 82 games as a rookie and hughes had 21 in 62 games. And both the hawks back then and the devils now were bad teams. Obviously a lot could change after hughes rookie year though I understand that. I wanted my hawks to get the top pick for hughes very badly, but looking back i'm very satisfied with Dach instead of hughes.
