My Ideal 2020-2021 MN Wild

Created by: KoeberBrick
Team: 2020-21 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 22, 2020
Published: Sep. 22, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Reasoning:
- I don't think Zucc has been in MN, I would like to move him so that he can get a change of scenery
- I was not impressed with Hartman or Hunt this season and believe they have to play in sheltered roles to succeed
- Dubnyk had a rough season and I believe he can be a good goaltender still but if MN needs cap space I think hes the first to go
- At some point MN needs to play Kappo to see if he is an NHL level goaltender
- Donato is very skilled but cant seem to find a defined spot in the lineup, he needs to be given a shot
- With all of the cap issues for NYI, I think that MN could get him with an offer sheet and I think its worth the compensation
- With the expansion draft coming soon I'd like to see MN move Dumba so that they can protect 7 Forwards and 3 D-man
Let me know what you think but please know that this is my opinion

Gotta think Lou matches that. It would probably take $10.5M+ to make him flinch

NYI matches that offer sheet instantly and thanks you for your help.
Barrie is garbage, no reason for us to sign him either, but he certainly doesn't sign for only one year.
The Ottawa trade doesn't make sense. That 2nd rounder doesn't help us nearly as much as those players do, especially if you have Parise and Mayhew as middle six players in their spots.

It would likely take more but NYI only have 8.9 mill in cap space and have to sign key players Devon Toews and Ryan Pulock. If Lou doesn't play things right they could have serious cap issues, if I'm MN i kick the tires on an offer sheet.

They can move Leddy for cap space, pay someone to take Ladd, they can find takers for Clutterbuck, Czikas, Komarov. And worse case scenario, one of Pulock or Toews is lost to keep Barzal. Barzal is #1 on their priority list by a lot.

Very true. I don't know the NYI system will enough to know if they have the depth to make up for trading Leddy, Clutterbuck, Czikas, and Komarov. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out

Yeah bud, this is great, but highly unrealistic. Way too low to lure him from NYI. If Marner can get a shade under $11 mil on the wing, for a franchise center you can bet Lou's preparing for Barzal's camp to ask for a lot more than what you have here. And I don't think Winnipeg will send a 2nd with Ehlers for that package.

I think that we would take Donato at that price.

I agree with @mnwild1790 that you don't get a second with Ehlers.

I think that you could get quite a bit more for Zuccarello and Greenway.
