Hawks don't need RD nor Pietro
Kubs won't get more than a 1 or 2 year deal
Cags gets less
Shaw nor Seabs will be on LTIR

Rangers decline, Hawks are trending down and Pietrangelo isn't wasting his time in Chi-Town.

This would also be if Seabrook goes on LTIR, of course. While there is a chance that he does, he very well may not, making this signing obsolete. I also agree that the Rangers aren't dealing Shesterkin. Maybe somebody convinces them to trade Georgieve (spelling) but not Shesterkin.

He's probably getting a 7 yr deal, but if the Blackhawks offered the best contract, he absolutely would play for the Blackhawks. In general, players play for money. That said, Seabs and Shaw are both likely not going to be eligible for LTIR at the start of the season, so there's no way they'll be able to sign Pietrangelo and stay under the cap as fun of a thought as it is.

Pietrangelo would sign with the Red Wings if they offered 7/10M and no other team did. Why? Wouldn't he want to go to a Cup contender next year? No, not if it's $70M versus $60M. Winning, trending, Cup odds, home town discount all take a back seat to contract amount and might come into play only if and when contract terms were similar.
