Revisiting Parise Trade

Description
Assuming Barzal misses the cut off for a full 8 years, he gets 8 mil at 7 years, anything more would be considered an overpay IMO. I based Pulock’s and Toews’ deals off previous Darnell Nurse deals, Toews gets the current 2 x 3.2 deal Darnell is getting off of, Pulock gets the 5.6 AAV Nurse is getting paid in 20/21 but for much longer term, both I feel have comparables to Darnell.

In UFA nothing crazy, NYI brings back Matt Martin & Andy Greene after great playoff performances from the both of them, with matching 1x1 deals. In addition, 2 depth signings in Noesen & Alzner. Noesen played decent in the bottom 6 in a weak SJS team this year, he has all the opportunities to play. As for Alzner, assuming MTL buys out his deal, Alzner returns to Trotz where he played a great shut down role with in WSH, if Alzner still continues to regress, likely his last NHL contract.

Guerin & Lamorello were rumoured to revisit the rumoured Ladd/Parise swap from the previous deadline, this time however I added in Minnesota native, Anders Lee. He as well making 7 mil, and with 3 big contracts NYI had to make this off season, it was obvious a few of their bigger deals had to get off the books. MIN tacks on Brendan Menell who had a great AHL season but recently signed with Dinamo Minsk in the KHL & a 1st round pick in 2021 (which they had 2 of, could add a condition to send the lower of the 2). On top of a salary dump in Ladd, and a consistent top 6 FWD in Lee, NYI tacks on Kiefer Bellows who really came into his own with a few NHL looks, Sebastian Aho (the defencemen) a good young defender who is struggling to outplay the immense LHD depth NYI has. And a 3rd round pick in the same year MIN gives up their 1st.

The Ho Sang experiment has failed terribly in NYI, so they decide to trade him to EDM. EDM has a low patience GM in Holland, so this could be his last North American chance. In return, they get a conditional, low round pick & Ryan Kuffner in return. After giving up Bellows & Ladd, Kuffner serves a top AHL LW spot both of them left behind.

Leddy’s cap dump is needed in order to keep this team under the cap, SJS are reportingly wanting to spend up to the 81.5 cap limit, this deal would help them do so.

Sharks don't need Leddy. We need RWs. Is Bailey available?

Im not sure you understand what willing to spend to the cap means. That means "we have all money available for improvements to the team" not "we want all the bad players other teams dont want and we want to be full salary"

As much as it pains me to say it. He actually might be we need cap space badly. Doubtful we'll be taking contracts back though.

This post is bat**** crazy so ignore most of it.

But your Bailey comment interests me. I don't want to get rid of him, but he's the most moveable of the 5mill forward contracts. What would SJS give up?

Considering you guys need to let people go, probably a 2nd or 3rd. Not a second this year.

Understandable. It wouldn’t be worth it then, we can keep him and just spend assists to drop Leeds/boychuk/Ladd, etc.
