There's no way Tampa accepts that even if they need to save space.

Absolutely they do. They Have a very strong 9 now with a reliable 4th line. Defence is now on track. This is a playoff team for sure especially for how weak the east is

Sorry but I disagree, we already have Marner, Nylander, Kapanen, Hyman, Soshnikov, Brown etc. Add in JVR and we have many players that cap do what Palat does for cheaper. The only way we trade for a winger is if he brings a physical element to our top six (in my ideal world Boone Jenner but we'll never get him).

I wouldn't say out defense is completely solid; time will tell but I think we'll eventually need to bring someone in.

As well, Kadri would be a great second line center for us: He's a good fast two way centerman who draws more penalties than any other player in the league. I'm a big Kadri for second line fan and I think we can develop our own in house Palat

Agreed, think if Zaitsev does well he would be good to sign to a Connor Murphy contract (6 years 3.95 million)

This is not good. Who are the Leafs centres? Komarov,Hymen, and Marner all play wing. Johnson, Brown, Sosknikov likely could be NHLers. at wing also. Carrick is likely a Dman, certainly not Polak. Doubt if Leipsic, and Holland are resigned by the Leafs next year. Kadri and Bozak do have value for the Leafs. Unnecessary UFA signings....cap space will likely be needed Zaitsev (think 4.5m) and soon Matthews, Nylander and Marner.

Palat is not going anywhere. A top tier 2 way player.
