Stralman + 2020 2nd for perlini. You're gonna have to pay to get rid of contracts in this world

Only reason I didn't is bc DET is under the floor so this gets them up to the cap floor.

They won’t be under the floor once they sign Mantha and the other 11 players it takes to fill out a roster.

That Arizona makes a lot of sense for the Panthers. They take the higher cap hit, but they save money both this year, and in the long term. The Coyotes probably only do it if they sign Hall though.

And DeMelo will make much more $, on a longer contract.

We will get to the floor without this trade though

If Stralman was a LHD, you may get a buyer from DET. But he's a RHD, which DET has plenty of.

I think the value is fine, but AZ only has Dvorak and Stepan under contract at C. I'm not sure Hayton makes the roster, and he's almost certainly not ready to be a 2C. Add that Stepan is only owed $2M, and I doubt we see him move until the deadline.

Yeah but the Yotes need to shed cap. Connolly makes sense for them and they need to give up someone. Think it'd be smarter to move Stepan rather than a big piece like OEL.

Raanta or their expiring defensemen seem like far easier moves to clear cap because they have organic replacements.

You can't go into the season with only Dvorak and Hayton at center. You won't find a better middle-six center for $2M real cash. Can't see him being moved before the deadline. In a vacuum, it's a fine deal. I'm not saying it's horribly lopsided, just that it doesn't fit.
