I think one more defencemen is needed. One more defensive defenceman could make a big difference in balancing Morrissey and Dumba's offence

from a logical perspective, that is horrible. Dumba for the 10th? dumba is more a OFD so hellebuyck still gets no help.

Instead of getting Virtanen, I would use those to get Leddy
And swap out the 20’ 1st for the 21’ 1st. We aren’t giving up 10OA this year.

Dumba is certainly an upgrade over what we have, but there is no way that I’m trading 10 OA. Dumba is an offensive defenceman who is pretty bad defensively so if we really wanted a defenceman I would just take Sanderson if instead of trading the pick.

I'd hate to give it up to but if were going to fill out those two holes 2c and top four RHD going to have to give something up. If we can do it without trading Ehlers or Laine were a better team for it because that will be the ask if it's not the 10th + for a top four RHD. Dumba is offensive yes but he brings some physicality and bigger shot from the point on the #1 PP, gives us the option of moving Pionk next offseason when he's do a raise and Poolman may be ready to fill that 2nd pair RHD at around 3.5-4. I like Sanderson but he's not helping them win in the next 2-3 years, Trouba came in at 19 and was on the 3rd pairing for the first couple, we also have Heinola coming who prefers the right side. Laine will need a big raise next year and Helly and Scheiff are only going to be a bargain for the next four.-

You could mix up the pairings

Morrissey Poolman
Dillon Dumba
Samberg Pionk

Still three solid pairs.

I do see your point but in my honest opinion we’re a few years out from being a serious contender again, just to many holes. 2C, 2 top 4 dman, and a lot better scoring depth. I think If someone like Lundell is still available or even Sanderson at that spot I think it would be silly to move it for Dumba, that’s just me though
