I can't see any way the Senators would take BOTH of those bad contracts unless the package is impossible to turn down. And I'm not sure this return would be enough.

This is enough.

Both are NHL C who can be retained and traded or traded at the deadline.

I like Kostin and the 1st is good.

It’s not about the return. It’s the fact that the Senators organization would never take on TWO of those large salaries.

Need to make the floor, would provide the ability to trade Tierney (long term saving), both can be traded at the deadline to save 25% of their salaries and both carry lesser actual salaries than their on paper cost.

i love this trade from both sides. ottawa will only have to keep steen and bozak til the trade deadline at the latest. both would be great vet for the kids they both play hard ect tail ends of their careers
klim is a big body but at best 3 liner. 1st pick is perfect imo ottawa would get that and in all likely hood be able to flip all three players if klim doesnt fit what they want .. guessing it would end up being
1st --- 2nd and a prospect .. 3rd and 5th or prospect . and maybe swap f -- d prospects.. for 1/2 of a season of bozak and steen .... even melnyk cant argue with that return.. 26th 28th and 4 2nd round picks to move up in the draft ...
