1) The source was the JR interview on Madden that everyone heard and was widely reported on, so you can go look that part up yourself.
2) My point about Scevior is they are clearly flexible on age. Just because they want to get younger doesn't mean EVERY player has to be younger. You're clearly not one for gray areas.
3) Kovy put up 26 points in 46 games which is good for about a 40 point pace. Ryan has been consistently putting up 40 to 50 point pace the last seven years.
4) ZAR is getting traded? Says who? Simon won't be here.
5) Teams take gambles. It just happens. Someone will sign him.
6) Ok bigshot, you tell me, given the Pens' financial situation, who they should target for the 3rd line. Also realize that this armchair is a best case scenario. Realize that Johnson may very well be here, so if you had around $2.5 to $3M to fill out both wings on the 3rd line, who are you getting?
1.) nothing GMJR said in that interview mentioned Simon being traded. He said it will be hard to fit him under the cap at the current time. Doesn’t mean he is the one going to get traded. And given the fact that it’s “hard to fit him in the cap right now”, it’s easy to assume it will be hard to fit Kovy or Ryan in the cap too.
2.) Sceviour is younger than Hornqvist. In that trade both players they obtained was younger than the one they traded. You’re clearly not one for having a brain and common sense.
3.) Kovy also played most of the season in a top 6 role. He is also like 80 years old now. Bobby Ryan was pretty bad last season. And if you listened to GMJRs interview, after saying Simon would be hard to fit into the cap at the current time he also said he won’t add any prominent free agents.
4.) I didn’t say ZAR was going to get traded. I said it’s a possibility, just like it is with several other players. And Simon hasn’t been traded and there are literally no Simon trade rumors.
5.) cool, that will be someone else. We already are taking our gambles with making Jarry the starter and trading Hornqvist for Matheson and Sceviour.
6.) again moving Tanev up, Simon, Poulin. It’s common sense. If we were going to just put old farts that can’t skate anymore on the third line, Hornqvist would still be here because he at least is a better leader than Kovy or Ryan. I doubt GMJR adds anyone that’s old unless they can still somewhat skate at least.
