Habs can probably get a much better return than that. That about the same as what Coleman got, maybe less

Coleman got that return because he was signed at $1.8M, for 2 years, and not being shopped. Devils needed it to actually deal him. I wouldn't mind throwing in Gauthier or another prospect. Depends what their interests are.

Danault is 5th in Selke voting is signed for 3.083 and not being shopped? I think that is more than enough reason for them to ask for more. A deal around Buchnevich probably makes most sense for both teams

But he is a pending UFA. His value would be that high if had like 2 years left.

He has the full season, and can an extension can easily be negotiated in said deal

Right, but that's a factor, If he comes with an extension we'll add considerably. This deal is a straight swap. No contract negotiations.

I just don't see it. Danault should get at least what Pageau got at the TDL. There was no contract extension in place there

Hmmm. I wonder if OTT got heat of the deal they signed right after the deal. I'll definitely add more, just don't wanna be stupid about it.

Honestly I just don’t see the Habs trading Danault right now. Unless he was packaged for laine. Not some prospect gatherings. Mtl will try and resign him and keep him with the value he holds to them. I’ll bet he plays this year in mtl for sure
