Domi brings back a sense of scoring and physicality that the Ducks has always been known for. Pretty much a major upgraded Nick Ritchie.

I’ve talked with multiple Habs fans who’ve said they’d be willing to deal this package to get a first line winger to play with Gallagher and possible Suzuki ( if he plays 1C ) or Danault.

Well, here's a Habs fan saying that's too much for 2 years of service.
"1st line winger" is like being a 1st line winger on the Habs-Not actually a 1st line player.

      I'd 1 for 1-max add a 2nd.

I dont claim to speak for all Habs fans but that is a horrendous trade for Montreal. Rakell is a good player but shouldnt command Domi, a decent prospect and mid 1st rounder.

If that is the cost, i rather not improve our RW position and go with what we got and keep the 1st and Domi and Brook.

Ducks fan here-I agree. Rakell for Domi+something small (2021 2nd?) would be reasonable if Montreal was intent on moving Domi, but I really don't see why they would. I get the whole "hE wAnTs To Be A cEnTrE" thing, but man, he's so much better as a winger.

I used to think the center thing was a big issue but appaerently his agent has gone on record stating Domi will play any position needed. So im not worried about that issue as much anymore.

Yeah, then keep him on the wing. He's solid, seems to like it in Montreal, and should be affordable.

I think it's insane to trade a 25 year old player 1 year removed form 72 points and sandpaper in his game. The offers i see here are laughable. Domi can easily put up 60 points as a 2nd line center with some grit.

I think it has less to do with Domi and more to do with Rakell. What has he done to warrant this return? Nothing IMO maybe at the start of his contract but now? Not a chance. If people are saying Domi is a 50 point player, well so is Rakell. So what are we doing this for? Also Rakell being a UFA as opposed to Domi RFA makes a difference enough to make up for Rackells low cap hit.

Rakell for Domi straight up is closer than people think.

Montreal is clearly overpaying here. There is no need to send Anaheim their 1st.

This place is funny. You can't please anyone unless you somehow make a trade that is homerun for both teams so most just throw things at the wall and see if it sticks

I think people have it all wrong to be honest with you. It isnt about making the most even trade possible. That rarely happens even in the NHL.

Instead try to think of new ideas that can spark a discussion. That should be the goal.
