Sabres say no. An Eichel trade starts with Aho and Canes have to add more.

Nothing enticing. We are worse now and in the future. Id imagine a trade like this would have to include Svech/Necas and maybe some other lesser pieces

Not without significant retention on Eichel.

If you score 10 a game, who cares how many you give up?

I have no comment, because I don't want another infraciton.

Going back to my self imposed ban on eichel threads.

Centers have a lot more value than wingers. Svech looks like a franchise winger but franchise centers still have more value than franchise wingers. This is just silly.

Yes, I'm aware. But what you're saying implies they're similar in value, which is just false. Svech is still on an ELC as a point per game player and a great defensive forward at just 20. Eichel is 23 making 10 mil and is a little more than a PPG winger. Yes centers have more value, but EVERYTHING else favors Svech and it's not particularly close

Necas is one of the best players in hockey on his skates, and was a 20 goal rookie. If you want that AS WELL AS Pesce, Trocheck (who's capable of a 75 point season) multiple firsts, Eichel would need to be like 50% retained. Necas is FAR too valuable to move as an expansion exempt top 6 player for anything less.

Svech will need a new deal in one year. That isn’t a decided factor in his value over Eichel. Im not going to hold Sabres’ ineptitude against Eichel. In the end franchise centers still in their prime are still worth more than wingers

Svech is on an ELC and already a PPG player at 20. Eichel is 3 years older and isn't exactly categories higher than Svech, who's already setting franchise records for Carolina. So if you think thatt's dumb, fine. You're entitled to be wrong

I don't think Eichel is a franchise C. There's a reason Aho still is the 1C here. By EVERY analytical metric available, Aho is better. MacKinnon, Crosby, McDavid, Barkov, Matthews are franchise centers. I don't consider Eichel to be that same tier. Is he a very f**king good player? Absolutely. But It's Eichel's ineptitude that contributes to Buffalo's ineptitude. Eichel is a tyre fire defensively, his skating while great by most standards, isn't as good as even someone like Larkin or Necas. His leadership is questionable. I just cannot justify saying Eichel is a franchise C. He's an Elite C for sure. But that isn't the same.
