Sergachev

Created by: ken_holland
Team: 2020-21 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 3, 2020
Published: Oct. 3, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I suppose this is a better alternative for Tampa than an OS. (pick this year and decent prospect who was drafted in the 3rd round)
Markstrom - Koskinen tandem (maybe best tandem in the league?) because of the condensed schedule. Canucks may not sign him and use that cap space on OEL
Markstrom contract will have an NMC

That doesn't get you Sergachev, And Markstrom already said that he wont sign with Edmonton he's staying in Vancouver.

I like this.

Though I think Koskinen will be the starter next year.

I find it hard to think Marky will leave.

14 is pretty fair and Samorukov has decent potential.

BriseBois can get better offers even a high top 10 pick for Sergachev rather easily.

I can’t say I agree with some other comments I think that’s a pretty aggressive offer to Tampa. I’m on the fence about that one. I like it but 14th overall is tough to part with this year. I think between 12-16 is where a few big steals will take place.

Markstrom never said he wont sign in Edmonton. Fake news

And I don't see how the Nucks will fit Markstrom in the cap with a potential OEL trade.

Gonna have to give up more than that to get rid those two contracts.

What about just Neal? Would the Red Wings accept that?

Evidence? Or are you just making an outlandish claim?

Yeah Sekeres is the Eklund of the twitter world, Can't believe Markstrom would say that it would be pretty low class of him.

No that's just being obvious, I could definitely see New Jersey giving up their 7th pick for Sergachev he's exactly what they need.

Neal still has 3 years left at $5.75M he'd easily cost your 2021 1st round pick alone, And seeing that we already have your 2 2nds for this and next year that wont work.

I feel like Sergachev would cost more ... although not much more.

Possibly more then fair, But bottom line is Julien BriseBois isn't moving him he already said as much. And he has deals in place to retain all 3 RFAs.

Lol I guess that Staal trade still hasn’t sunk in that teams won’t move first to drop salary. Neal is a consistent 20-25 goal scorer and Russell is a good depth d a very good bargain for the 1.5 left owing on his deal.

You forgot to mention that Edmonton needs to add before Detroit even considers taking that hot mess.

Yeah that's true, But unfortunately they've nothing better to give us we already own their 2 2nds from this and next year perhaps the 2022 2nd on top of it.

For taking 2 bad contracts it will cost this year's first not next year's. If it's next year's first then you can add in samokurov or rodrigue

That’s a fair statement but his options are extremely limited with all the no trade clauses involved if no ones willing to waive and why would you if someone is willing it’s going to be a very short list and those teams don’t have the cap to take 5 plus mil straight up, the rangers would be the wild card team in there, more then likely at least one of the 3 get moved and it will be one of the big 2 and Sergachev most likely the guy
