Description
A couple things:

I messed up the Ottawa trade (see comments), but I don’t feel like it is right to change it afterward. Just imagine they don’t send a 3rd to Colorado.

I’m not sure the Jets accept this trade from Colorado. If they wouldn’t, I think Colorado should be willing to add either Jost, LOC, Compher, or a 3rd to the deal. Some Jets fans said they would take it as is though, so maybe.

I understand this puts Colorado in a bit of a cap bind for MacKinnon, but I think they have enough room to handle it. Especially with how many depth contracts expire that year or in the meantime. Plus, it’s always good to just go for the cup.

I’m not sure if the specific RFA and UFA contracts would work, but I would want to spend a similar amount of money overall (plus or minus a million). However it gets divvied up works. This is one way I think might work. I would shoot for the terms below.

Thanks for checking this out!

OTT reject. Mid 2nd and a low 3rd is too much to move 3 spots.

Yeah they would. COL should avoid that because it puts them in cap trouble come MacKinnon time, because Laine with MacKinnon and Rantanen is hell on wheels and gets him paid huge.

Yeah, I agree. I honestly don’t know why I added that 3rd lol. Just greedy. I think they might go for the swap for the two picks though. Depends on how the draft falls. They have enough picks to trade if they like a guy at 25

I think Colorado can handle the cap issues. It might be touchy, but championship teams figure it out

Laine playing with MacK and Mikko is almost a shoe in for 40 goals which means a $9M+ contract, throw in Makar likely getting the same type of extension and Landy getting around $8M and knowing a guy like Byram, Kadri if they keep him, will also need extensions you are REALLY hoping the cap really raises.
