Gee, aren't you being a little harsh? Leafs had 68 points last year, and now they are on a pace to have 82 this year. Matthews "disappeared" in the third period....no goals.

Have you seen the goals that went by him, his rebounds were horrible, i'd rather have Riemer in net based on Preseason and that one game, at least the leafs would have won this game

I agree with Andersen's goaltending wasn't good last night.....It's a long season......relax. I've waited longer than you....well since 1967. Things and Andersen will get better.

I agree though Andersen let in at least 2 bad goals the goal JVR redirected was totally not his fault.

Andersen is in for a long year. He had it easy with the Ducks d-men, and overall team defense. Tor doesn't have that.

It's only the first game, and all goalies have bad nights. As long as he doesn't turn into a basket case (possible) he'll be okay.

The most entertaining games of the year might be Dallas v Tor. awesome face

To think, they had a chance to pick up Wedgewood for free a couple days ago. With goaltending being the biggest unknown, might have been worth carrying three goalies instead of 8D for a while.
Hunwick or Polak would have easily passed through waivers.

With a 5 year contract tucked in his jeans, sure Anderson isn't worried about you giving him 1 more game!

Why are you guys making so much judgement from a single ******* game. If Morgan Rielly makes a bad play does that mean he should be traded? If Matthews doesn't score a goal in the next 10 games does that mean he should be sent to the AHL? Probably wish you had Carlyle too, and then they wonder why they have been so bad for the last decade.

Let's not start with these silly Wedgwood for Vezina rumours. If he was NHL good, don't you think the NJD would have kept him? If he was NHL good, don't you think another NHL team would have picked up on waivers? By your logic, why not make Wedgwood the # 1, Leafs waive Andersen (he gets claimed) and the Leafs save 4m in cap.

Just nonsense, please leaf fans, please for the love of god give Andersen at least 20 starts before some of you decide to run him out of town. It hurts as a hab fan hoping the leafs-habs rivalry can exist again.

It's way way too early to judge Andersen, however as Leafs fans we have seen us bring in a young unproven goalie who doesn't perform to expectations all too often. It is worrying however that Anderson's 2 starts in a leafs jersey were awful and that he played behind arguably the best defensive systems in the league beforehand.

Vezina now eh? Thats cool palhal, I believe I suggested that it might be worth carrying 3 goalies for a while as the leafs goaltending is their biggest question mark. Wedgewood would be third in depth behind Anderson and Enroth and he is easily better than the rest of the leafs goalie prospects. Devils have Schnieder (better than Anderson), Kincaid (same as Enroth) and Blackwood (potentially better than all of them) in the system. Losing Wedgewood was a risk but they chose to keep Kincaid. Also helped that Condon was waived at the same time. I would think that if Condon wasnt waived, Wedgewood would be a penguin now. Anyways, leafs had a chance to add depth for free at their weakest organizational position and they chose instead to pick up another 5'9" forward that used to play for the London Knights.

Why are you guys so quick to judge, pathetic, give the guy a chance before you run him out of town just like kessel! He also had 2 solid games in preseason againt Detroit and Ottawa, and he is just coming back from an injury.
