MTL isnt giving you a 2nd for Strome. it doesnt even look like NYR are qualifying him, no team will give up assets to take on a guy then can get by just signing

No he won't, he has a really good business relationship with BriseBois already and likely doesn't want to ruin it

Rangers qualified him yesterday. The team/return isn't super relevant, mostly just filling holes left from offer sheet compensation, or getting picks to get rid of Smith's contract

I get what you're saying, but I hate that GMs feel like they need to "preserve" a business relationship with other GMs. Their jobs are to make their teams better, not make friends with other GMs.
If GMs are worried about other GMs pulling a Brian Burke and pissing and moaning to everybody and the media, just remember which of the latter are unprofessional. Making an OS or acting offended by a process which is allowed by the league.

This is a very short sighted way of thinking. Running a team is a business and even though it is within the rules it is still highly frowned upon. I am quite certain Gordon will not be sending Cirelli an offer sheet. It is much more likely he tries to flip Buchnevich and a prospect for a 2C

I like the Cirelli offer sheet but its gotta be more. He's a big priority for Tampa to keep and 6.5 million is an easy match for them I think

My hope is they couldn't afford to keep both Cirelli and Sergachev...I can't imagine they make the cap work for both, unless Johnson is definitely out?

Ya they're so tight but think keeping Cirelli and Sergachev are the main priorities. They really want to keep the core of those guys, Point, Kuch, Hedman, and Vasy so will do anything to keep those six. Cernak might fall through the cracks but since he's a righty don't think he'd be of incredible use for us.
