From Feedback and Dont think they can shed salary

Description
I am getting the feeling from listening to experts and pundits, etc. that the Leafs will have a hard time moving Kerfoot and Johnsson for anything at all, let alone anything of value. I'm trading Kerfoot in this because I think someone will take a chance on him because of his versatility and I picked Edmonton because I think he can play 3rd center or move up and play wing on one of their top 2 lines and not miss much of a beat for them. I just don't think he's the center they need because they need more of a 2-way guy who they can rely on in different situations.

Just remember the experts are great at getting it all wrong. Many players did not get QO’s and I ylthink that floods the market. Look for their value to be slightly lower. Hockey trades will price useful.

Very realistic option with kerfoot still don’t like as a target for oilers but a lot more reasonable than any previous trades seen.

that'll be a no from the wild. everyone they are taking presently are in contract years. They haven't added anyone with term at all. unless you retained 50% of kerfoot and dropped the 3rd, which might sound ridiculous, but also fits the m.o. that guerin has been following so far.

Buffalo, Ottawa and NJ are prime destinations for Johnsson and Kerfoot.

Buffalo will try to be active in free agency but lets face it with the reputation and culture there not many big UFA's will go. With Kahun gone i can see Johnsson being a good target as he is only owed 2.6 mill this season than 2.5 for 2 more years.

Kerfoot to me is good for teams needing defensively minded 3c. Ottawa could be interested as with Duclair gone they can use a guy like Kerfoot. Plus unlike Duclair asking for over 4mill, kerfoot is only owed 2.6 mill this year than 2.7 the next 2 seasons.

NJ can also be a destination as both would add depth to the team and help speed up the rebuild.

I believe I sent 1 year left Alex Chiasson to Minny. It was mostly a dump, I thought the Wild might take a chance on him.

If Kerfoot was a defensively minded 3C, the Leafs would be keeping him. He's not that. Edmonton is looking for a 3C and one who can jump up and play with McDavid or Draisaitl in the event of an injury makes a lot of sense I think. But again, if he was a defensively minded 3C, the Leafs would keep him and play him between Robertson and someone else on a 3rd line.

Buffalo taking Johnsson probably isn't crazy talk assuming they strike out in free agency but I don't get why they'd not qualify Kahun and then trade assets for a player who honestly isn't that much better. Johnsson is basically if they gave Kahun a shot in their top 6. And I think Jersey will have other options better and/or cheaper than Johnsson and Kerfoot. Lots of teams need to shed salary and will have guys available. The Ducks probably have to deal one of Rakell or Heinen, the Lightning still have to trade Johnson and Killorn, the Bruins may not be able to afford DeBrusk. All those guys are better than Johnsson and I think I take Kerfoot over Heinen but that's it. I don't think trading those 2 guys for picks is going to be that easy.

do you know he's decent on the PK from all the minutes he plays there? Or how?

He averaged 16 seconds a night on the PK for the Leafs last year and 3 seconds the year before. He doesn't kill penalties. And I doubt it's some hidden skill that the Leafs are saving. It's also not like either of those teams have great penalty killers in front of him. I'm not going to sit here and tell you I know who is, and isn't a good penalty killer, but I think typically, if a guy doesn't kill penalties, he's probably not good at it...
