Crow's not accepting that. The Hawks would just sign him.

I like the group of guys you collected here don’t see Neal being the scratch but would be interested to see how it played out with that group.

They already said they won't re-sign him. And there's so many goalies playing musical chairs this summer that the contracts won't be as big as they hope.

Kahun, Koivu and Crawford. That's what a successful offseason looks like!

They said that because he wouldnt sign for 3.5, why would he be satisfied with such a small raise?

Hawks offered him basically that same contract. If that's the only offers he's getting he can still come back and sign with the Hawks for that much.

He might retire. He's said he wants to stay a Hawk alot. This whole bye Crow thing happened so I have to believe he got a serious offer from another team. If he didnt....why would they part ways? I'm not suggesting he won't go to EDM or any team for that matter, but it doesn't make sense to part ways over 250k. They offered him $3.5M

I don't know who will lose out, but there are more goalies than roster spots this offseason, and money is very tight. Not many teams will be handing out big contracts to older goaltenders - that should be obvious by the number of teams that have cut their long-time starters loose (CHI, NYR, WAS, VGK, MIN, OTT, DET).

He may not want to re-join an aging, failing organization though... we'll see, possibly as soon as tomorrow.

Do you honestly think...that Crow thinks the guys he won two cups with are aging and failing??? That doesn't even make sense.

I think the direction of the organization is pretty obvious. Are you saying Crawford is such a complete idiot that he can't see it? I mean, the Hawks openly declared that they were happy to rely on a couple of minor league goalies next season - if that's doesn't spell t-a-n-k-i-n-g I don't know what does.

Thats after...which is hugely important. Talks didn't die after Stan said those things. Talks died before that. HUGE difference. Stans just reacting. The rumor is is AVES offered a big contract to him. We'll see.

***EDIT*** Let me rephrase this. Hes not going to the team he just beat on the playoffs...on the premise that CHI is tanking. Thats NOT intended to be a slight to EDM, but a bit of an eye opener that the Hawks aren't tanking. We could argue whether they should or not, but they're not doing it.
