Coming from a biased habs fan, that trade with the Avs is the most one sided thing I've ever seen.

How is taking one of Vegas’ best playoff forwards who is on a good contract helping them? And Colorado puts a hit out on you for proposing that trade so watch out for black SUVs

Looks a lot more helping Montreal get Hall trades than helping Vegas get Pietrangelo trades....

How is that? A former first round 3rd overall pick, a top 4 D with low term low money. A 1st and a 2nd? That’s pretty fair for 2 first prospects. Gives drouin a chance to find chemistry with his old buddy. And replaces Zadarov with a Dman who can not only clear the crease with good positioning but also hit the net and score the odd goal.

The point is, that package isn't worth a potential top pairing defenseman and potential top 6 centre. Also, just because Drouin was a former 3rd overall pick, doesn't mean anything, his ceiling isn't that high anymore, so you can't expect him to improve much.
