From a Chicago standpoint, I'd say you need to add like a 2nd

Unless you're willing to let them walk next season, i'm not sure how this helps you from a habs-vgk perspective. Danault will likely command 5-6 mil on his new deal and lehkonen will probably want 3-3.5mil per. Seems like apples to oranges

It depends. Martinez is off the books, so there comes the money to keep Danault. One of Kase and Lehkonen is moving, but other than that the core isn't changing much.

Just needed to get a C. VGK center depth is relatively weak when compared to other contenders.

A pending UFA they're unlikely to keep, a low 2nd in a weak draft and a bottom-6 winger for a solid TOP6 guy under a great contract is way too much?

Well I disagree, but you do you.

With that contract Danault has lower value than Tuch.

any trade involving Danault should have extension talks happening in order to maximize his value

Interesting. Would be an option. 👍🏻

Not saying yes but not saying no either. Biggest concern is he’s much better playing right side, does not help us.

The difference is Danault has been a top 10-15 2 way C over the last 4 seasons. Just sucks he played on a team that lacked top 6 offensive talent he could have scored an extra 10-15 points if they had more talent in MTL. On This Vegas squad I bet he reaches 60-65 points. Tuch has had one season where he looked like a top 6 forward. Just got lucky it was a contract year.

I think the new CBA had something going against with this kind of policy. At least conditional picks regarding re-signing contracts aren't allowed anymore.

Its not too much. Tuch is very valuable especially at that salary. Bergevin would accept that deal all day

Alex Tuch is the best player in the deal and his contract makes it a bigger bonus then a lackluster 2nd round pick. It's not possible to NOT overpay for that type of player. Josh Anderson trade for example.
This 2 way nonsense is the same stuff I heard from Hawks fans on Saad before he was basically given away

Saad was not the same player he was 3-4 years ago he regressed. And there not a single person that isn’t MB that thinks MTL got the better deal. Tuch has one good season where Danault has been consistent. Anyone that thinks Tuch is the best player in that deal is wrong.

We have one of the worst GMs in the NHL, has nothing to do with the kind of player Saad is. You'd imagine being a Vegas fan and watching Stone play you'd understand what being a 2 way player is since he's arguably in the top 5 best 2 way players in the league.

No, Saad has not regressed. In 17/18 Saad was battling a injury to his back that he was dealing with all season from the end of the 16/17 season. 18/19 he came back and 19/20 (prorated to a full season) was on pace for 30 goals and 47 points only time he was better was 15/16 goals and points. His game is more well rounded then ever. I like Danualt and he's improved his game quite a bit and believe he is better then Tuch but it's not as far off as either of you are debating.

You are absolutely wrong if you think Saad has no value right now; on pace for 30 goals and one of the top 20 2-way wingers in the game. That's an absolutely asinine statement

Please keep talking ChiHawk. Another “asinine” statement

I'd make the same bet I made with a certain Hawks fan about the players value (he lost and continues to push a losing narrative) that Tuch has much more value at that contract signed, when Danault will far exceed it in dollars on his coming deal.
But Tuch being traded will NOT happen in a million years right now, in a flat cap. As opposed to a declining Saad at least you acknowledge that.
Saying Danault is a better player than Tuch thus more valuable is hilariously ignorant.
And I love Danault but he's very replaceable with guys like KK and Suzuki, able to take the tougher matchups down the road. You can not replace a power forward with speed like Tuch.
It's building a team, not looking at fancy stats charts.

Its very easy to say you were wrong and move on. Or just stay quiet. Otherwise, things never quiet. If you won’t take the advice. I will have to do it. Ignored.
