NJ needs a middle-six RW

Created by: NHLfan10506
Team: 2020-21 New Jersey Devils
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 14, 2020
Published: Oct. 14, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Which of these guys would be best for NJD to acquire?

They are all different (experience, ability, contract, etc)...so the trades to acquire them would differ. Not looking for which is best trade. Looking for who is best RW for NJD to target. My thinking is this...Holtz wil be here in a year or so, but Palmieri may not be. They need to fill RW hole for now and future.

-----

My old list:

1. Robert Thomas (removed - too expensive)
2. Luke Kunin (removed - traded to Nashville)
3. Alex Tuch (removed - not available)
4. Jake Virtanen
5. Jack Roslovic
6. Kevin Labanc (removed - resigned large deal in SJ)

Adding
7. Brendan Gallagher
8. Oliver Wahlstrom

(considered but didn't include: Tyler Johnson, Alex Nylander, Oliver Bjorkstrand, Travis Konecny)
(not considered: Hoffman, Dadonov)

-----

Rank them...who should be top target for NJD to go after?
Any others I should add?

----

Don't get too hung up on salary cap (would not do all of these deals) nor lines (I just fit them in quickly). The trades are best guesses at what the trade would look like...am flexible on those. But if you are here to say "Gallagher starts with Ty Smith, Alexander Holtz and a 1st"...you're not in the right spot.

You would need either a 1st or a higher end prospect to get Gallagher

They’d need both. He’s a 30 goal scorer with some of the best intangibles in the league.

If its New Jersey they likely will be a pretty high pick even with Gally in the line up, no lottery protection would be enticing with that team

Habs don’t need draft picks, they’d rather have already drafted prospects who are closer to the NHL. Smith or Holtz would have to be included

Smith, Holtz, and the 2021 1st pick are off the table.

(besides, Smith lives with Gallagher in off-season...would make things a little awkward, no?)

Anyway, not debating components of deal...looking at which RW should go after

Thanks...the point I was trying to go for, "was which of these four guys should NJD target"...and not, "do these offers work?"

They are all RWs from teams that need to move players out...no idea, in this market, what actual prices would be
