thats what id assume. But if other GMs had ridiculous asks for taking Fleury, its going to be as bad or worse for Boychuk

its probably a good amount but hes only owed 5.25M over 2 years in real cash so its a somewhat easier sell. Pagnotta said they were moving Boychuk and I wouldnt be surprised if it was done already but not announced yet, since we have signed greene and schneider but there hasnt been an official announcement yet

Leddy, unfortunately, isn't going anywhere Lou and Trotz love him for some reason. If we move someone, it will have be Boychuk and I'm getting nervous about what that looks like. A trade supposedly imminent once the Toews trade broke, but it's been radio silence over the last couple days.

I bet there's a taker but they're asking for Dobson or Wahlstrom and Lou isn't budging.

i would imagine every team who has ample cap space for the next 2 years who can just buy picks and prospects since 5.25M over 2 years is really nothing to pretty much every org

I wouldnt be surprised if its done already. We have unofficially signed Greene and Cory but they havent been announced yet ,i feel like something may be brewing

I mean I don’t think he’s going to be the superstar that he was projected to be , but he’s still on pace to be a productive top 6 winger who can contribute 25-30 goals on barzal’s wing

i always thought Wahlstrom, Kravtsov, Caufield, Denisenko, Vesalainen, Tolvanen were overhyped

True, still wouldn’t trade wahlstrom though. I think his skill set compliments barzals perfectly

Who has the space to take him though? And of those teams who will want to? They could just offer sheet a RFA or trade for one instead. Like what happened with Toews.

Seems like a lot to keep under wraps. If you're, say, Yzerman, Dorion or another GM with cap space I dont see why you wouldn't try exploiting us, I think losing one of Dobson or Wahlstrom is a realistic possibility. Not sure what else they'd be trying to hide beside those three moves

He’s not getting traded - they’d buyout Leddy before trading pulock.

And according to the fourth period, Detroit/NJ/Ottawa are interested in taking boychuks contract and after toews was traded he said a boychuk trade is close

Yeah but he's still a solid bet to be a good top-sixer. Looked really good in his 9-game trial last year, despite the lack of scoring

They will not trade Dobson - that’s just not realistic at all. Buying out Leddy and clutter would save them an additional 6 mill

The worst I can see is bellows + a 2021 to get rid of boychuk , but I think bellows + two 2nds might get it done

Can you still buy people out? Thought it was kinda hard (and less advantageous) to do that after the first window.

And I'm not taking anything off the mental table tbh, still shocked the traded Toews for something that isn't a tangible asset

Yeah I’m pretty sure there’s another buyout window if ho-sang goes through with arbitration.

The toews trade was brutal, but it’s clear why they did it (trotz loves Leddy). don’t think that they would even consider giving up a prospect making 874000 for the next 2 years that they see as their future #1 defenseman. I’d say Dobson is the 2nd most untouchable player behind barzal.
