What the Bruins are doing

Description
Feel like Sweeney is taking some heat and I don't really get why.

Peitrangelo and Hall being the obvious off seasons carrots.

Peitrangelo - Love him now, not going to like that contract in 3-4 years. 35,36 & 37 Year old Peitrangelo at 8.8m is not going to be of any use. With a full no movement. McAvoy and Carlo are a fine top 4 RD. Lauzon seems top 4 capable and Clifton is a solid 3rd pairing guy.

Hall - I don't know. I was mad, but Hall clearly cares more about Money. Playing with Eichel will set him up after a weird year. I am not saying Boston was his only option, but if I really want to Win, my best chance right now is Colorado. I do not want a guy who has been in the league 10 years and played in the playoffs once who chooses Buffalo on a ONE YEAR deal (He isn't buying in, or it would have been longer). Yuck, no thank you. I am not paying that eh-hole more than Marchand, Bergeron or Pastrnak. puke.

As it stands, the Bruins will lose a forward they don't want to.
Smith, Bjork, Frederic or Kase being the most likely candidates at this point.

Smith is pretty much a lock for 20/20 at a decent number (heinen 2,8m).
Kase - Ana fans considered him elite. annoyed by his lack of finish, but dude, can play. They will protect him. Some of his advanced numbers are insanely good.
Bjork - Personally I think he puts it together this year. Saw signs last year. They re-upped him for 3, so they see it too. 20/20 very possible for him this season.
Frederic - Who knows...

If they sign Hoffman, he will also like be exposed. I don't want them over paying for something right now. Teams will freak out about who they can protect.

Take a look at Carolina for example - Skjei, Bean and Fleury will all be exposed, so presumably also available.

With another Covid season approaching, I like the wait and see approach right now. Let some of the kids play and build their value. Who knows, maybe Frederic is our Cirelli and Maybe Zbroil is actually decent and has some value in a trade or as a player. If not we know and the Bruins get a decent pick and they can sell at the deadline if it comes to that

I don't want Nate schmidt. I want a legit top pairing guy, or someone with a hope of turning into one...

Boston will be fine, just need a new top 4 d

Craig smith @3 is really beneficial for you guys

And the forward group looks fine without debrusk (not ideal to lose him but if he’s asking big money it could be the best choice) (could be the piece to gain a top pairing guy)

Edit: also a line that could come to fruition is

Someone - Coyle - Smith

And that line sounds like a pain 5v5 being the third line/ real second line

I did not want any of the players the “fans” are upset about not getting. Most just see a big name and want that guy without any thought to logistics.

If the "rumor" is true, Hall wanted to sign with Boston but Sweeney said he needed to move some cap first. Hall wasn't willing to wait and signed with Buffalo.

As for next year I see it as very similar to last year

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
DeBrusk - Krejci - Kase
Bjork - Coyle - Kase
Ritchie - Kuraly - Wagner

Chara - McAvoy
Grz - Carlo
Zboril - Lauzon
