Laine Weegar Eriksson

Description
Do I believe that is fair deal for a 40 goal scorer? No, of course not, but nobody who's trading a 40 goal scorer really gets fair value. In this trade the Jets get a bonafide top 4 RHD on a good contract for 2 years, a 1st round pick in Lundestrom who's surefire to become at least a responsible middle six center and a 1st round selected reclamation defense prospect in Larsson who could turn out like Pettersson in PIT.

The Henrique deal is to supplement the defensive hole the Ducks created until Drysdale is ready to come in, and the Ducks would likely lose Henrique in the expansion draft anyways. FLA gets a stud 2C center who looks to be a very good two-way forward, lock for 25+ goals and 50 pts for at least the next 3 seasons. ANA gets a RHD in Weegar who could turn into another Josh Manson if all goes well. If he keeps playing like he did last season he could even surpass Manson.

If VAN wants to compete now they're going to need to add more through free agency, 6M for two years for only a 1st is a bargain when you look at the Marleau deal.

I think Laine is a good idea for Anaheim, but I'm not sure how they get him without giving up one of their very top prospects, meaning Zegras or drysdale

No from Winnipeg. I think they'd just keep Laine If this was the best deal out there.

Where is Drysdale in the Laine deal and Steel for Weegar is probably what they would want

I think that's a overpayment in itself, the 1st will likely be a lottery pick and Lindholm is a #1 Dman (most years) who's young.

But again, you're looking at it as fair value, I'm looking at what I could expect a GM like Chevy to actually say yes to.

Not in it, because the Jets aren't going to get a prospect of Drysdale or Zegras' caliber in a trade for Laine (which is why you don't trade away players like Laine). This isn't a fair trade, but it's in the ballpark of what the Jets would likely get if they traded him.

Henrique is a lot better than Steel right now, and likely will be for at least the next 3 years, and with Borgstrom & Heponiemi already projecting in similar roles I don't think FLA would be more inclined to that deal. Henrique will provide more value for them while Barkov and Huberdeau are still on their team-friendly deals.

Yea so if Henrique is good and better, keep him and give Steel
