Okay let me just first say I love the idea of offer sheeting sergachev. That said, I’m not a fan of your execution.
1.four years takes him direct to UFA without buying out any UFA years. That’s kind of just a non starter in the NHL, though it would make it far less likely that tampa matches due to the super player friendly term. I’m guessing CF shows him as RFA? It’s some weird glitch in their system. Any time a player has 7 years nhl experience, he’s UFA.
2. The logic behind your trades. It just isn’t there. The whole purpose behind such an offer sheet would be because they’re incredibly thin at left D. Andddd here you are trading the only other left shot D they have at the NHL level. By all means trade Moore. Trading grizz is just very weird under this scenario.
3. The grzelcyk trade concept: you’ve got the room! Give chara 500K less and give grizz 3.2. Easy! Or just let him go to arb. For a one year deal he’ll get under 3. Then there’s the value side of things. I think the bruins would pretty happily turn down a second rounder. They like the player. No chance they’re ditching him for a nothing draft pick. They clearly have the cap in this scenario. Ask yourself what is more valuable, a 3rd round pick, or expansion draft protection? If left unprotected, Seattle is 100% talking grzelcyk.
