eh, not sure how I feel about this guy. You really don't get to steal Marchands nick name. He's earned it.

I’d trade anyone on this team for Raty. We need a center more than anything. Rangers fans aren’t realizing quickly enough.

Ratÿ plays the wing more than he plays centre. Rangers aren't tanking this year. They're set up perfectly to get into the playoffs and make some noise. There's no need for Ratÿ in New York

Uh, you need a defenseman who's good in his own zone more than anything. There's a lot of great OFD here, but no one who can do a job defensively, and it's why Carolina skated circles around the Rangers.

So 3 playoff games after a long break we looked not so great, sort of like Boston. Why is it that we swept you guys 4 games in the regular season? Both Lindgren and Fox are pretty solid defensively and were in their rookie season. Trouba isn’t paid 8M because he is decent offensively and has no D in him.. ADA, sure, primarily he is a puck carrying D man and needs to work on his D side to become the equivalent of Leetch. 1/2 of our team just needs to season while we add the odd depth players as we come out of the rebuild this/next season. As for those playoff game our forwards were mostly absent. But if you would like to attempt a critique of our roster over 3 games after a multi month break then by all means, seems like the smart thing to do

Carolina had the same layoff and skated circles around you. Offense wins games, but defense wins championships. All of the Rangers D men were net negative in their own zone. You swept us in the regular season fine... but in 2 of those games we got Hanked (Verb: Henrik Lundqvist becoming a brick wall when he walks into PNC Arena). To become a genuinecup contender you need a cernak, a Parayko, a Pesce, a Dumoulin. Someone who's elite defensively. Trouba is ALL offense. ADA is all offense. Lindgren and Fox are too young to tell, Smith LOL. There's a major weakness on the defensive side of the puck in new york. It's ditto Toronto. Offense is scary, goaltender is solid. Defense is the major hole. Specifically defensively.

Everyone had the same break and it effected teams differently. No one is disputing you guys had a different break. As for being hanked, it was the worst season of his career and he was out of shape. But sure, he stole 2 games. The real issue at hand here is you watched 3 games in the playoffs and are making blanket judgments based on them. No one is disputing those 3 games and I hope can comprehend this. But us who actually watched their other 70 games know far more about our own players. As for Trouba, ask any jets fan if he was only offensive and a complete hole defensively. I’m sure they will tell you that losing him left a hole there. Smith, LOL, not sure why you’re even mentioning him. No Rangers fan will claim he is solid for anything outside of hitting. As for adding a guy like cernak I’m sure that would be the plan in the next year or so as we are currently in a rebuild unlike a team like Toronto. If you’re uncertain about who we drafted after Laffy this year is is specifically a D minded Dman.. our biggest need is for Strome and Chytil to either improve dearly or buy a top C next summer.

All great OFD, no one who's defensively responsible. Can't win games if you're leaking chances at the back. Offense wins games, but Defense wins championships.

Miller, Lundqvist, Robertson and Schneider are not NHL players yet. Trouba in a normal year is what you saw this year. 2 years ago in Winnipeg was the anomoly. He's not that great in his own end. Fox and Lindgren don't have big enough sample sizes to be considered great DFDs. The major issue for the Rangers is defensively. You're living in denial trying to avoid that

You can't be certain a player is going to be great defensively in the NHL. It often takes a LOT of time for someone to show elite defensive prowess at the top level. You're meant to be surprised by the kids, not dependent on them. Defensively is still going to be a need in a few years because rookies are not going to come into the league and shut down the leagues best talents right away. Trust me, Jaccob Slavin and Brett Pesce didn't come into the league and become defensive dynamos right away. It takes a lot of time for the game to prosper. In 3-5 years, maybe it's not an issue. But in 1-2 years? It certainly is.
