It’s not his value, it’s how badly Tampa need to move his contract to sign cirelli, sergachev, and cernak. Enough to the point that they don’t need that 1st and 2nd.

I think I get the conceptual ideas of what you're doing here and agree and makes sense.

VETO All of the trades. No way vegas gives up Fluery for that much. They aren't that desperate to get rid of him. I realize they need center depth, but they probably aren't looking at Strome to fill that depth role. Plus they would need to sign him to at least 3-4 mil deal and they can't afford that. Now if Chicago retains salary on lets say a one year deal, then maybe I can see that return making sense.
Smith deal I see what you're trying to do, which is get draft picks, but I'm not a fan of bringing in smith to make that happen. I'd rather see a prospect and not have smith take up a spot in the AHL.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Johnson is now a free agent because he got bought out by TB. I don't understand how he is still the property of TB. Anyone understand what's going on there?

I would rather not do the Tampa deal and try to get Seattle to take Seabrook instead. In the article it said it was a possibility.

Johnson isn’t bought out. He was unclaimed through waivers, so he’s still property of the lightning.

I wouldn’t get too invested in that possibility, especially if it costs prospects and draft capital to do so.

Maybe he agrees to a buyout next offseason and just signs in Seattle after. Dead cap would be 3.3 million. We've seen other rebuilding teams like the NYR not be shy on buyouts

Sure, but NYR rebuilt the right way where everyone was fair game didn’t have absurd contracts attached to multiple players. One way or another, i only seabrook’s career ending one of two ways: 1) with the hawks and being sat 40+ games a year, or 2) LTIR.
