I think you gave up uneeded assets for skinner. No saying it wouldnt take alot to aqcuire him but i think the pens could put together a different package that better helps them for the future.

That package isn't completely unreasonable value wise, but it makes no sense for Pittsburgh to trade their 2 most valuable non-NHL assets and a 1st round pick for a high profile LW when they are getting ok (not huge but serviceable) production from guys like Wilson and Sheary. No need to mortgage the entire future to add to a team that is already built for another deep run.

Mortgaging your future for a 50-point a year LW who's a defensive liability with a long injury history - no thanks. Giving up a first round pick, your future top 6 wing, #3 Center, and top goalie prospect (I don't consider Murray a 'prospect' anymore) is way too much. We gave up peanuts compared to this for Phil Fucking Kessel.
